There are trees that exist in the world and there are trees you build. At Hummingbird Nest Ranch, we did both. A cascading canopy of violet and lavender Japanese wisteria was installed overhead, so dense and so alive that guests felt they had stepped beneath a living purple sky. The existing oaks and willows of the ranch held the edges while our wisteria filled every inch between them, transforming the landscape into something between a Monet painting and a garden from another century. Emerald velvet chairs lined long white tables set on a gleaming white dance floor. Curved black arches framed the ceremony space against a backdrop of open hills and hedgerow green. Blush florals anchored the table centers, the only softness needed in a room already saturated with color above. Two professionals. One afternoon. A garden that existed only for them.
