She was self-made. Gracious. A queen in the truest sense — the kind who trusts completely and receives fully. At the Paséa Hotel in Huntington Beach, she handed me her vision and asked me to make it real. So we built an enchanted garden inside a ballroom. Towering cypress trees rose from beds of lavender, violet, coral and blush that spilled across the floor like a countryside in full bloom. A canopy of cascading greenery and wisteria hung overhead, chandelier light glowing through the leaves. Living goddess performers draped in periwinkle moved through the room like figures from a painting. The bride stood at the edge of it all, her gown trailing behind her, surrounded by every color of a garden at golden hour. This was my favorite kind of client. This was one of my favorite rooms. She trusted me. And I gave her a world.
