The hotel had no rig points in the ceiling. For most designers that would have been a limitation. For me it was an invitation. I had fallen in love with ceiling treatments because a designed ceiling completes a room in a way nothing else can. When guests walk in and see the ceiling speaking as a design element, north south east and west all answering each other, they have stepped into a world. So we built a trussing structure and brought the ceiling to life in blush and gold. Cascading blush baby's breath filled the circular ceiling installation overhead, so dense and soft that guests felt they were standing inside a pink cloud. The room disappeared. Only the dream remained. Blush linens, gold geometric chairs, mirror-topped tables and cascading pink rose arrangements kept the palette minimal and perfectly aligned. Like Technicolor in film, when every element shares the same frequency the whole image deepens. Our bride was pretty in pink. Her room was built entirely around her.
