She understood something most brides take years to learn. Simple is its own kind of drama. At the legendary Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, she said no to a ceiling treatment and yes to something far more unexpected. We created floating centerpieces suspended above long bronze mirror tables, clouds of white orchids and baby's breath hovering in mid air, making the entire room feel like the inside of a dream. Single stems rested on the tables below, quiet complements to the drama above. A dozen large crystal chandeliers were brought in and hung throughout the ballroom, their light fracturing across every surface. Along the walls, leather booths lined the room. Not just for atmosphere. Her parents built the Johnny Rockets franchise. Those booths were a love letter written in design. The palette was white, cream and gold. The baby's breath made it feel like clouds had come indoors. The bride walked in and the room held her completely. Heaven, as it turns out, looks exactly like this.
