A first birthday. A christening. Christmas. Three sacred moments collapsed into one afternoon in Los Angeles. We built a pastel Candyland from the ground up — snow-flocked trees in blush, lavender and mint, oversized candy canes, lollipops and nutcracker sentinels standing guard on either side. A cloud of mint and lilac balloons floated overhead while a tiered confection cake anchored the dessert table in pure fantasy. The family walked through it together, the little one between them, her whole world made of sugar and light. This was childhood, designed.
